Beginning
Thanks to the inspiring ramblings of my former colleague, Nate Burtch, I have decided to take my blogging to a whole new level. Those of you who know my LiveJournal experiences have noticed that I am not the most skilled blogger. I can't do the darn templates, it doesn't have a calendar thingy, it's not all pretty. THIS, my friends, is completely different. THIS is crazy!!!

I love the blogspot I got goin' on. It's cleaner, neater, and although still lacking the calendar I so desire, I'm sure I can find a template somewhere. I just love the LiveJournal as well. It has its own beauty. However, none is a beautious as this.

Anywho, we are at one week and five days until I move across the country to become an Oregon State Beaver. Thus, the subject of this journal. As you may known, I am having panic attacks left and right regarding this "move." Not only am I leaving all the people I love, I am also leaving MY CAR. MY CAR (in some form or another) has been a primary staple of my life since I turned 16 and got that shiny new license. My frustrations are stemming from the following facts:
  1. I live one hour away from the ocean and thirty minutes away from the mountains by car. Walking, this time turns into something like 2 days and 12 hours
  2. How the hell am I supposed to get to a superstore, i.e. WalMart or Target, and get all my stuff back? Bus drivers do not exactly smile on Tupperware drawers and bean bags
  3. I can see people being deterred from visiting because of the fact that an airport is approximately $40 away from Corvallis via the "Corvallis Express" short bus
Not that my car would've made it across the United States anyhow, but there's something comforting in a green and tan hunk of machinery whose primary purpose is to transfer my behind from Point A to Point B.

Anyway, I have a lot to do before I leave on September the 11th, including getting my hair cut, probably crying a little bit, and spending time with all my friends who I seem to have been blowing off lately (sorry sorry sorry).

Leave comments if you should wish to do so. I'd like to know someone is reading. You don't have to have a blogspot. Just push "comments," "make a comment (or something)," and then post anonymously. It's easy, eh?!

Love, Jess
